Top 5 Loose Powder

Why Loose Powder? What is best, compact powder or loose powder? and how to use the loose powder? These three questions came in my mind first when I was searching for good powder for my skin. I have been using compact powder when I started doing my makeup and mostly borrowed from my elder sister. But it does not lock my makeup in place for a long period of time and I have to reapply it now and then and sometime makes my face cakey when applied more. Then I learnt that for a certain skin certain product will suit. Powder, compact or loose is generally used to set your makeup in place and gives oil free look.

Who should use what?

People with very dry skin should use compact powder, it is pressed powder which contains more oil than the loose powder. And people with normal to oily skin type should use loose powder. Loose powder is generally light weight and best when you want to set your makeup in place for long period of time. Loose powder can also be used to bake under the eyes, Baking is a makeup technique in which loose powder is applied on concealer under the eyes and let it set for four-five minutes and then sweep away the excess powder with the help of a brush. It will give very smooth look and hide all the crease and blemishes under the eyes and lock the makeup in place for long period of time. loose powder is also used to define contour lines. Loose powder can also be used to set heavy makeup looks.

How to apply Loose Powder?

Here applying is the key. Too much of powder gives very cakey makeup look and less powder won’t set your makeup. When using loose powder apply it very lightly with the help of a brush, or damped sponge pressing it onto your skin and let it mix with concealer you applied and it is important to sweep away the excess powder with the help of the brush. I generally use the brush to apply the loose powder as sometimes the damped sponge absorb all the powder and then it is hard to apply onto your skin. and sweeping away the excess is important for non cakey makeup look.
