Its been a while I had written anything, be it a book review or anything about styling, makeup and skincare and this is the way I pour out my thoughts, that’s why I call this my diary for a reason! I was reluctant and still I am. It is not easy to be vulnerable in front of the world and I always been in a war about either I should keep my thoughts to myself or express it to the world which is not always kind. I am still thinking either to keep this up or give up on this blog site.
But for now, Lets talk about the books that I have been reading last week. I know this very well, I’ll seem so naïve talking about this book, (It’s a love story!) but seriously who cares! here I am putting my thoughts out about this books so I can come back later and laugh on this or be proud of myself how far I have come!
Gen Z are going crazy about her books and my every visit to the crossword, I had witnessed someone deeply dived into Collen Hoover’s quietly at the corner. She writes fiction precisely love story. So I try to stay away because of the illusion it gives. But guess what I ended up reading both the books in a week!
COLLEN HOOVER
Colleen Hoover (born December 11, 1979) is an American author who primarily writes novels in the romance and young adult fiction genres. She is best known for her 2016 romance novel It Ends with Us. As of October 2022, Hoover has sold more than 20 million books.
Reflecting on Hoover’s success in 2022 in particular, Alexandra Alter of The New York Times wrote, “To say she’s currently the best-selling novelist in the United States, to even compare her to other successful authors who have landed several books on the best seller lists, fails to capture the size and loyalty of her audience.”
Many of her works were self-published before being picked up by a publishing house. In November 2011, Hoover began writing her debut novel, Slammed, with no intention of getting published. She was inspired by a lyric, “decide what to be and go be it”, from an Avett Brothers song, “Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise,” and incorporated Avett Brothers lyrics throughout the story. Hoover self-published Slammed in January 2012.
A sequel to It Ends with Us titled It Starts with Us was published on October 18, 2022 which became the publisher’s most pre-ordered book of all time.
IT ENDS WITH US & IT STARS WITH US
It is hard to read a love story and not feel every ounce of emotions you have been trying not to get overwhelmed with! Love is the magic factor in everyone’s life and that is why Colleen Hoover is so successful! She connects the dots very well.
IT ENDS WITH US is the first book of this series and one of author’s most loved books and the story continued in IT STARTS WITH US. This books are not only about love but it also showcase how little kindness toward other can change someone’s entire life positively, it also bring up the topic of how one’s childhood trauma can affect all their life if they don’t face it and work on it consiously, It covers the important topic about domestic violeance and taking stand for yourself to break the cycle which dain you mentally and emotionally.
Lets talk about love as the genres of this book is romance! one thing cross your mind when one talks about love is believing in happily ever after. Lets burst this bubble first because love is not about ‘happily ever after’. the rosy side is only one side of love, love will test you, love not only comes with laughter but it also brings tears. To deal with anything that love brings with, it needs consistent efforts, patience, and respect.
Can someone love that much that she ignores the wrong behavior and stretch the boundary that made her forget the limit? Can someone love that much that he constantly put efforts to change for good? Can someone love that much that he is ready to let her go? This is the story about Lily, Ryle and Atlas. It is said that love is always a choice.
I enjoyed reading this books. Now I know why Coover has loyal fanbase. Her story is not of La La Land but her story defines love in most practical way possible. She defines love not perfect but genuine. She will not only make you feel butterflies in your stomach but also fills your eyes with tears. If you ask me my favorite part of the books are Lily’s diary, naked truths, and Atlas driving five miles just to give Lily a hug after very tiring day. All this look so unrealistic sometimes but then I asked myself would I do the same thing to comfort the person I love and guess what the answer was, hell yeah! Love is always a choice!
I want to quote this poem by KHALID GIBRAN which indicates the true essence of love.
