About Book

The Archer is the fiction story about the very famous and best archer named Tetsuya who has retired and he is giving the lessons about life in context with how to learn archery to a young boy who requested him to teach. The boy had many questions and the answers he got from this famous archer were not only about how to use bow and the arrow but about life, finding the purpose and having courage, taking risks, working hard, being consistent, surrounding yourself with allies who can contribute in your journey to grow everyday and so do you in return and doing everything with your soul.

I am quoting some of my favorite lines from the book.

“Teaching it isn’t hard. I could do that in less than an hour, while we’re walking back to the village. The difficult thing is to practice it every day, until you achieve the necessary precision.”

“The archer who does not share with others the joy of the bow and the arrow will never know his own qualities and defects.”

“As I was drawing the bow, I traveled a long road. Now I release this arrow knowing that I took the necessary risks and gave my best.”

“They are the people who can’t bear to sit around waiting for things to happen in order to decide which attitude to adopt: they decide as they act, well aware that this could prove highly dangerous.”

“People always judge others by taking as a model their own limitations, and other people’s opinions are full of prejudice and fear.”

“Join with those who sing, tell stories, take pleasure in life, and have joy in their eyes, because joy is contagious and can prevent others from becoming paralyzed by depression, loneliness and difficulties.”

“If you never take a risk, you will never know what change you need to make.”

“Elegance is not the most comfortable of postures, but it is the best posture if the shot is to be perfect.”

“Do not allow yourself to be carried away by how you shoot in the morning, whether well or badly, there are many more days ahead, and each arrow is a life itself.”

“After much practicing, we no longer think about the necessary movements; they become part of our own existence. But for this to happen, you must practice and repeat.”

“But you will only learn this if you keep shooting your arrows.”
